The QA engineer will be responsible for the exercise and the implementation of test strategies for the Certica Solutions application. You will be responsible for updating these test strategies as you perform the tests. You are also required to maintain proper records of events. In addition, your responsibilities will include finding new and creative ways to exercise the code to ensure a high standard of quality for our customers. Clear communication, creativity in test strategies & implementation, attention to details and discovering ‘out of the ordinary’ events that could affect quality are all attributes we are seeking.
This is a full time position reporting to the Manager of Quality Assurance. Entry level candidates with a B.S.E.E/CS or equivalent are also welcome to apply.
- Execute current documented test strategies and plans
- Record outcomes of events
- Update test cases as the application grows and specifications are updated
- Review design specifications and ensure all items are exercised in tests
- Execute load and stress testing
- Assist the Engineering team in test duplication
- Work with the Engineering team to develop new tests and testing strategies
- Provide analysis of test strategies as the product cycle is implemented
- Record defects in the Bugzilla application
- Work with MS-Project and MS-Excel for project planning and documenting the QA test strategy
- 0 - 2 years or equivalent testing Web based software applications
- SQL experience required
- Exposure to any one of Oracle, MySQL or SQL Server
- Advanced proficiency in scripting such as Perl, JavaScript or VBScript is a must
- Tomcat and/or Weblogic experience is a plus
- XML/XSL testing experience is a plus
- Understanding of Object-oriented programming and experience with at least one of C, C# or Java will be a significant advantage
- TestComplete experience is a plus
- BS Computer science or equivalent is required. Those who have already graduated or will graduate this year with appropriate exposure to the above technologies with prior internships, field or programming-oriented coursework, but with no prior industry experience may also apply.
