Job Summary
The Data Warehouse Architect / Developer must be skillful in the art of data warehouse design, data modeling, stored procedure development, ETL architecture and development, and database performance tuning; have experience in object-oriented programming and web/client-side development; possess the ability to assist in the scoping of projects and assume responsibility for delivering major application components.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Responsible for developing and maintaining the data architecture for major software products
• Collaborates with Product Management in the definition of product requirements
• Works as part of Engineering team in planning and scheduling projects
• Effectively writes Functional Specifications and Detailed Design documents
• Works closely with the Quality Assurance team in assessing testability of system components
• Designs and implements major application components
• Assists Engineering management in the creation and implementation of software development processes and procedures
• Diagnoses and troubleshoots software system issues
• Participates in detailed design and code reviews with Engineering team

Technical Skills and Professional Experience:

• Strong knowledge and experience with
  • Application data architectures, especially data warehouses
  • Data management system design and development
  • Data modeling, especially data warehouses
  • RDBMS’s, including SQL Server, Oracle and MySQL
  • Data Warehouse and multi-dimensional database technologies (e.g., ETL tools, OLAP)
  • Reporting, Analytics and Business Intelligence technology experience a plus
  • XML, XSL
  • Java/J2EE; JDBC API and other major Java frameworks
• Experience in the development of commercial web applications for enterprise customer environments
• Skillful in object-oriented design and development
• 5+ years in relational database design and development
• 3+ years in software development
• 3+ years in web application development

Education and other Qualifications

• BS CS/EE required
• Must independently keep abreast of state-of-the-art software development technologies and methodologies
• Team player with strong inter-personal, written and oral communication skills
• Self motivated individual with strong initiative and sense of ownership
• Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals
