The Senior Implementation Consultant will work closely with groups of customers to utilize our software applications to achieve customer satisfaction and return on investment. This will be accomplished by helping both new and existing customers through the complete customer lifecycle from implementation planning and installation to training and providing ongoing field support, as well as taking an active role in developing new Projects in the Certify software for assigned customers. The consultant will collaborate with Certica’s support and engineering departments to resolve any technical issues, and coordinate with sales and marketing on developing new business opportunities.
The Senior Implementation Consultant must have a well rounded consulting background with strong technical skills and have demonstrated the ability to deliver value added services. He or she must be able to interact with individuals at all levels in our customers’ organizations while taking a hands-on role in application development at the customer level. The Senior Implementation Consultant is a thought leader in the organization and leads by example. The successful candidate will be able to get things done in an efficient manner, while working for a small company with limited resources.
This role is a remote position where the Senior Implementation Consultant will primarily work from their home office, and will also be required to travel to our BOCES/Regional Information Center and district customers throughout New York State.
- Customer implementation planning and delivery
- Consultation with customer on optimal software configuration
- Software installation and ongoing maintenance of technical environment
- Train and support end users on our software applications as well as business processes
- Facilitate ongoing adoption of our software applications by business users at customer
- Create, maintain, and update Certify Projects for assigned customers
- Solicit feedback and product enhancement ideas from customers
- Collaborate with Field Services Team in the identification of best practices
- Participate in various Product Management activities, such as identifying and reviewing new product features and beta testing
- Work with customers to define new, innovative solutions to education and data management issues
- Develop creative solutions to complex problems using readily available technology
- Create data mapping on student information systems and develop new Certify Projects per customer requirements and specifications
- Combination of strong technology skills and business acumen
- Excellent inter-personal, written and oral communication skills, and able to quickly develop rapport with customers
- Strong project management skills and ability to lead and manage teams not under direct control
- Adept at presenting in front of small to medium size groups
- Highly proficient in data analysis, deductive reasoning, and technical trouble shooting
- Solid prior experience with the following technologies:
- RDBMS’s, including development in SQL Server, Oracle or MySQL
- Proficient with all MS Office Products including MS Project, and preferably some development experience in Excel and Access
- Familiar with various web based languages such as Java Script, HTML, PHP, etc – development experience in these a plus
- Prior work experience should include:
- 5+ years in a company that develops commercial software applications
- 5+ years in software consulting, including data management, database design, and development
- 3+ years in customer facing roles, relationship management, and/or project management
- Technology related BS or MS, possibly an MBA - technical product certifications a plus
- Must have high level of responsiveness to both customer and internal requests
- Pleasant personality and ability to get along with a diverse set of individuals
- Strong initiative; must be self motivated, and able to learn and work autonomously
- Relies on experience and judgment to make customer recommendations and achieve goals
