President and Chief Executive Officer
Mark Rankovic has more than 20 years’ experience in the enterprise software market – primarily in information management – building and leading companies, both in the United States and internationally. Prior to Certica Solutions, as president and CEO of Kubi Software, Rankovic successfully repositioned the company’s collaborative technology as a sales effectiveness solution for team-based sales organizations, and orchestrated its acquisition by Pragmatech. Prior to Kubi Software, Rankovic was vice president of worldwide field operations at Alphablox, a leader in analytic application platform software, and managed the integration after the company was acquired by IBM. Prior to Alphablox, he was vice president of worldwide professional services and vice president of the Asia Pacific region at Prism Solutions, a pioneer in data warehousing solutions. Before joining Prism Solutions, Rankovic had been similarly involved with Information Builders and its distribution partners. He holds a BS degree in computer science and applied mathematics from the University of Adelaide (Australia).
Chief Technology Officer
Jeffrey Averick is responsible for the strategic direction of Certica’s K-12 information management solutions. He has been instrumental in the development and proliferation of Certify™ software, overseeing four major product releases and numerous education customer deployments since the product’s introduction in 2004. Prior to co-founding Certica, Averick was president and chief executive officer of QDB Solutions, a leading data quality software provider. Having executed the successful acquisition of QDB Solutions by data warehousing pioneer Prism Solutions, Averick went on to provide strategic counsel to emerging technology firms, including several in the data quality field. Prior to heading up QDB Solutions in the early 1990s, Averick was vice president of product development at BGS Systems, a provider of computer system capacity planning products. Averick holds a BS in mathematics from Haverford College and an MS in computer science and mathematics from Boston University.
Chief Application Architect
Don Cross is responsible for ensuring customer satisfaction through delivery of field services and custom developed applications. He comes to Certica Solutions with over 30 years of experience in information systems, business management and consulting. Cross has advised over 100 companies in the strategic use of software and data, and has designed and implemented decision support applications for over 50 customer organizations. Prior to joining Certica, Cross worked for Fujitsu Consulting where he started a business intelligence practice. Before that, Cross was president of Analytical Solutions, which was selected by DM Review in 2001 as a leader in software for customer relationship management. In the late 1990s, Cross was director of data warehouse consulting at Prism Solutions. Prior to Prism, Cross was the vice president of decision support software at ACNielsen. Cross began his career as an industrial engineer at the Proctor & Gamble Company, where he held a number of positions in manufacturing and distribution. He later joined the Dial Corporation, managing decision support and sales forecasting systems. Cross earned his BS in industrial engineering and an MBA in finance from Arizona State University.
Vice President of Client Services
Sarah Bassett has more than 20 years’ experience in business development, marketing and consulting with information technology software providers and professional services firms. Prior to joining Certica, she was director of product marketing for enterprise portal provider Corechange (later acquired by Open Text). Prior to Corechange, Bassett was executive director of product marketing and sales development for business intelligence and analytics at Ascential Software, and assisted with the spin-off of Ascential Software from Informix Corporation. At Informix, she was director of strategy and planning for worldwide professional services. In the early 1990s, Bassett was a member of the early team at data quality pioneer QDB Solutions. Following QDB’s acquisition by data warehousing provider Prism Solutions and Prism’s subsequent acquisition by Ardent Software, Bassett held senior positions in product management and business development. She holds a BA in English and an MS in public relations from Boston University.

Corporate Controller
Lynn Wolf has 20 years’ experience in the finance and administration field, with over 10 years at high-tech venture-backed start-up companies. Before joining Certica, Wolf provided corporate controller services for several early stage companies, including matchmine and Vi Laboratories. Prior to her consulting work, she served as finance manager at North Bridge Venture Partners; she also served at North Bridge portfolio companies Pragmatech Software and Authentica (later acquired by EMC Corporation), as director of finance and corporate controller, coordinating worldwide finance and reporting. In the 1990s, Wolf was senior accountant at Raptor Systems (later acquired by Symantec Corporation) and external financial reporting manager for XTRA Corporation. She began her career as a certified public accountant for Arthur Andersen. Wolf holds a BS in accountancy and an MBA from Bentley College.
