LEESBURG, VA – October 25, 2006 –
The Center for Data Quality, Inc. (C4DQ), an innovator
in data quality certification software and solutions,
today announced the expansion of its management team
with the appointments of Mark Rankovic as president
and chief executive officer, and A.K. “Sri”
Srikanth as vice president, engineering and product
management. Both Rankovic and Srikanth had been with
Kubi Software, a Boston-area company specializing
in sales effectiveness solutions, until its acquisition
earlier this year.
“It is with great pleasure that we welcome
Mark and Sri to the C4DQ team,” said James Lair,
a C4DQ company founder. “Both Mark and Sri bring
a range of experience and talents to the company,
especially in the areas of go-to-market strategy and
execution, corporate management and software development.
We expect their contributions will enable C4DQ to
further accelerate its sales, marketing and partnering
activities as well as launch the next generation of
data quality solutions, leveraging the successful
data quality certification initiatives that our customers
have achieved with C4DQ Certify® software.”
C4DQ was founded in 2000 by three information management
industry veterans – Lair, Richard Paar and Jeffrey
Averick – who came together in the mid-1990s
during their tenure at QDB Solutions. QDB Solutions
was a pioneering data quality software company whose
product is now marketed by IBM as a result of subsequent
acquisitions. With the addition of Rankovic and Srikanth
to the team, C4DQ’s founders will be able to
focus their attention on specific elements of the
company’s growth. Lair will direct sales and
manage partnerships in the government arena as executive
vice president and general manager, government solutions;
Paar will oversee customers’ data quality projects
and continue to develop C4DQ’s methodology as
vice president, professional services; and Averick
will synthesize market requirements into the company’s
data quality solutions, as chief technology officer.
“I am excited to be joining C4DQ and reuniting
with the founding team with whom I worked in the late-1990s
when their company and one of the companies I had
founded were both acquired by data warehousing pioneer
Prism Solutions,” said Rankovic. “There
is a significant growth opportunity for C4DQ and we
are all looking forward to broadening our go-to-market
plans and activities to take the company to the next
level.”
Mark Rankovic has 20 years’ experience in the
enterprise software market – primarily in information
management – building and leading companies,
both in the United States and internationally. Prior
to C4DQ, as president and CEO of Kubi Software, Rankovic
successfully repositioned the company’s collaborative
technology as a sales effectiveness solution for team-based
sales organizations, and orchestrated its acquisition
by a leader in that market. Prior to Kubi Software,
Rankovic was vice president of worldwide field operations
at Alphablox, a leader in analytic application platform
software, and managed the integration after the company
was acquired by IBM. Prior to Alphablox, he was vice
president of worldwide professional services and vice
president of the Asia Pacific region at Prism Solutions,
a pioneer in data warehousing solutions. Before joining
Prism Solutions, Rankovic had been similarly involved
with Information Builders and its distribution partners.
He holds a BS degree in computer science and applied
mathematics from the University of Adelaide (Australia).
A.K. Srikanth has 16 years’ experience in engineering
design and management in the security, networking
and enterprise software industries. As vice president
of engineering at Kubi Software, Srikanth directed
the company’s solution architecture to implement
the product roadmap for its sales effectiveness solution.
Prior to joining Kubi Software, Srikanth was part
of the early team at Crossbeam Systems, a leading
developer of total network security solutions, where
he was initially director of software and later vice
president of engineering. Srikanth started his career
at Wellfleet Communications (later acquired by Nortel
Networks) where he held various engineering and management
positions. He has been published in industry journals
and holds six protocol-related patents. Srikanth holds
an MBA from Babson College, an MS in computer science
and electrical engineering from Purdue University,
and a BS in electronics from the Government College
of Technology (India).
